I have a sony EXCD-206 cd player in my car. It worked fine until recently. Every time I try to put a cd in, it won't automatically pull it in any more. If I try to manually push it in, it won't go in all the way. Then if I try to listen to the cd it gives me an error message that says E-99. When I eject the cd it starts to make a strange noise that lasts for a few minutes.
sounds like a few things, the belt to the cd drive tray which works on a pully and belt system, or the gears to it are shot. aka a belt came off or gear stripped. the other thing is maybe ur tying to play a mp3 cd????? and it's not compatible. lastly only 2 ways out i highly recommend u go buy a pioneer throw the sony out or take it back. cause sony is VERY low budget in how they build stuff. lastly try disconnecting the battery then in like 5 min reconnect the battery that way it resets the unit. if that dosen't work sorry to say u need a new radio.
