A friend of mine is going to get his listence soon and wants a system for his car. He wants SQL and wants it to be loud. Im not sure of his budget but dont go crazy with the price. Dosnt want to spend money for electrical upgrades so probly 1000rms or under. Ide say either 2 12"s or 1 15" or 1 18". Any opinions would be appriciated.

What vehicle? I've seen people run around 3k on a stock charging system and voltage barely dropped.

im not sure what kinda car hes gunna get but i figured under 1000rms to be safe. Could possibly go up to 1400 with like a nine.1 or something along that line.

If he goes with some efficient gear he can get away with a lot on a stock charging. But usually efficient amps tend to cost more.

2 12 idmax's with 500 watts each will get loud and maintain sq. not cheap tho. and always room for a bigger amp if he wants louder :-)

Maw 15" are $100 per sub. Those are excellent budget subs. recommended 1000wrms@1ohm for the deuce of them. stays under your limit.
