this is the power accoustic version of the epicenter and it works great. i heard a demo at the shop and was blown away by it. it performs just as good as the audiocontrol epicenter. this unit costs $60.

The epicenter is an add on unit that was more for older recordings that lacked bass in the song or bass was lost in the transfer of formats. The epicenter is really not needed for modern music, it only adds distortion to the signal. If you want a bass processor, a PG Bass Cube is more fitting. I had an epicenter years ago, it was fun to play with but added some distortion and sacrificed the sound in the end.

that is indeed the sexiest sub i have ever seen, no doubt. one can not get tired at looking at that.

an epicenter drops the bass a full octave. that way one thinks there is more bass then there is. on weak music it can indeed be helpful, but like denim mentioned, isn't usually needed on modern stuff. at the shop we carry what's called a maxxbass, does the same thing. people love those things.

I wonder on a surround as large as ^^^ that how it holds up under constant flex over time? It has a what, 3+" peak to peak excursion, right? It looks badazz, just vulnerable to premature surround wear. I'm just throwing sh1t out there lol.

Chad you're one blessed muthafuka.

thanks jk.

brad its there for those songs that lack bass. i listen to alot of classic rock and the bass isn't strong. besides when the bass knob is all the way down, its same as bipassing it.

its about 8 inches from the back wall of the trunk rovin. i can still move it farther or closer.
