the car audio shop I bought them from said they are in between the alpine type S and R line. and I picked them up for cheaper than type s coaxials.

From what I have heard they do not sound good.

Check here to get some ideas of what brands to look for:

Power bass make poor speakers. I bet the tweets will blow with half rms power. And speakers are kinda shoddy too. I went thru 4 sets of em, cause of the 2 year warranty, Dude kept swapping em out, Finally, I said just refund me, Im sick of tearing the dash apart. Never agan will I buy PB speakers. I will say PB costermer service is good.

just finished installing the component set on the driver side. i'm kind of dissapointed though, the Boston Acoustics FX6 2-ways produce better mids and (deeper) lows, but the pbx tweeter is nice.

For future reference, this is why you should ask the question before buying the equipment.

Yea, Until it melts...
I hope you bought them from an authorized dealer cause you will need the warrantee. But good luck to you. Maybe they fixed that problem....But at $80 a set, I doubt it.

yea I trusted the owner of the shop on this one though, known him for a few years and he's never tried to sell me anything. even told me to go with crutchfield (or other online sites) when I was buying a new HU.

I'm sure I can sell the component set locally though, they are definitely an upgrade on stock speakers but not on my 2-way Bostons.

Well I got lucky and the guy refunded me my money. The reciept actually says "no refunds, exchanges only" so I was happy.

Sounds so much better to have my boston acoustics and stock tweeter back in.
