how do i accomplish a kill switch for an amplifier. is it actually done on the rca's or the power cable

elaborate for me.

I did mine on the remote wire.

wire from fuse to one side of switch, wire out of other side of switch to amp. worked great.

yeah, u definately want the lighted one, that way you can tell when its on and off and won't accidentaly leave it on and run down your battery.

FYI, Lighted switches can cause loss of votage to amps rem terminal. Well at least it did when I ran 4 of em...Went with indicating type as seen in My USB Vid clip..

That should not happen if you use a good 12 volt power source, not the HUs remote wire. If your using the remote wire then you don't want the lighted switch, because you don't want to be powering it the the HU's remote circuit. It is easy to burn out that circuit by drawing too much current from it.

just hook the switch to the rem wire and dont get a lighted 1... that way when the car is off the amp is off however if ur driving and u dont want the sub on u can flip the switch.
