I get my choice of fuse size with this amp kit...what size should i choose? It's gonna be used with an Elemental Designs nine.1 amp at 1ohm powering 2 12" arsenals.

also gonna get this distribution block if it's relevant...

150A would cover the nine.1, but what's the d-block for?
running a 2nd amp?

id just get the 250a incase you decide to ever add another amp or whatever you be in the clear. you could get away with a 150a if you wanted.

and instead of getting that D block you could always cut off some of the wire at the end to make it skinnier so the 1/0 will fit in the 4g amp terminal if you want.

Dude you think the 250 amp fuse will pop before that amp does?Lol, I'm not that familiar with that amp but I think if it saw more than a 250 amp current that it would smoke.

The amp has its own fuses to protect it.

I suggested 150A only because that's more than enough for the nine.1 and will just a higher factor of safety vs 250.
That's why I asked about a 2nd amp because the 150A should be adjusted for it if it's sizeable at all.

But yeah, the 250A will work too.

And not to pile on, but Rob, the fuse at the batt is for wire protection only.
Fuses on or near the amp are the only fuses intended for amp protection.
In my personal experience, however, the only time I've blown an on board fuse the amp was already toast.

hmmm so i don't need the distrib block then i guess. I was under the impression i needed it because the 1/0 wouldn't fit but if you say i can make it fit then i'll pass on the block

yeah you can make the wire fit you just have the cut off the extra outside layer after you strip the end.
