Thursday, January 18, 2007 - 22:19 GMT dave are you talkin about the carpet on the inside or outside?? i would think competitors dont carpet their boxes because they are always switching them up and making different ones and its not a show car its an SPL car which looks dont matter so why waste the time on carpet. just my thoughts cuz i dont think carpet on the outside would have any effects

Thursday, January 18, 2007 - 22:47 GMT Scissors? A good sharp razor blade in a scraper/holder works best. Overlap the joints, straight edge and slice through both layers. Perfect joint everytime.

Friday, January 19, 2007 - 00:16 GMT 3 m stuff works great if you know how to use it. first, clean the box with a damp rag. then spray the glue on the box AND the carpet, wait a little to let it get really tacky, then put it on and press down on it. it will hold really well that way. if you dont follow that method you may have problems though.

Friday, January 19, 2007 - 01:23 GMT I used 3m also. Doesn't go far but worked well for me. I used to use that carpet adhesive/paste in a can. Henry or something like that. I prefer the spray, just sucks when you're indoors.

Saturday, January 20, 2007 - 18:38 GMT Sweet Chad!I knew you were smarter than the average Panda Bear Now you're thinking outside the box unlike most of these kids.""air doesnt flow on the outside of the box lol" Trevor exactly!!" Are you serious? You guys must be smoking something to think air doesn't flow outside of that box,if that were true you'd have no SPL that you could feel at all.The sensor wouldn't feel it either.

Saturday, January 20, 2007 - 21:32 GMT wow, air comes out the port. thats why you seal the pannels of the box.... maybe carpet will help the box from resonating so much, maybe hurt 100th of a db not even a 10th.. lol

Saturday, January 20, 2007 - 22:12 GMT The air isnt flowing across the carpet to creat more turbulance. that air flow is only in the port, and thats what counts. you think i thought they were in a vaccum or soemthing? of course there IS air around the box, but it doesnt have to fly across the carpet, it just gains pressure.

Saturday, January 20, 2007 - 23:14 GMT Didn't you resin your box Trevor? As far as air flow goes...every little bit counts and any turbulence is a loss of DB.You want air flowing to your meter when you got the TL hooked up don't you?

Saturday, January 20, 2007 - 23:55 GMT yes my box is resined. but thats to reduce internal turbulance, not external. the air doesnt flow all the way to the meter. all the air in the cabin is being pressurized. its not a sense of wind.
