My blown amp

okk i know this is in the wrong section but u guys respond more...anyways a question first i have been told that hifonics amps are pretty strong. i have a hifonics 1606d bought it new and after a month of pushing my 2 type r's the amp blew up on me..i am now told that those amps will fry if u hook them up at 1 ohm..has anyone else had this problem

It should not have blown because it is a 1ohm stable amp.. return it if you can..

if not I have an amp for sale that will do around the same power for $275 shipped :-)

yah im all pissed my father threw the box for the amp away and i bought it at a store like best buy...they wont take it back now...wat kind of amp do u have

The Hifonics was over-rated so this one will put out nearly the same power.. it is under-rated

Nope.. :-) .. it will give the subs a little more than rms.. so 600rms on each type R unless your throwing a lot more voltage to the amp.. and even if that were the case more power is always better than not enough.. just crack the gain down a tad.

great amp.. would make those type rs wang
