I am in a dilemma here. I want a new head unit but there are so many god damn choices it isnt funny. I want either clarion or alpine.......not pioneer, cuz everyone has em and I dont like the command knob.
anyhow here are the choices I have been debating about.....
a clarion dxz365mp with the clarion 7band eq
clarion dxz665mp by itself
alpine cda-9856
or the clarion dxz465mp with the clarion eq
I can get all for around the same price so what do you guys think.....??????
how bout eclipse??? they are known for sq i have the cd8445 and wen i first put it in the difference between stock and the eclipse was enormous try a cd4000 or try finding the cd8445

well ive never had an alpine and my one friend has a clarion(dont know what model exactly) but i love the clarion styling for some reason, and alpines look cool as hell and both are effective so I dont know.
might save up and go for the dxz765mp model later on but we'll see.
as far as eclipse goes.......the only ones that I like cosmetic wise are the 4000 models and above and dont want to spend 260 bucks right now.......
yeah some guy sold one for 130 but it now on ebay about 2 months ago. I saw it as soon as it was listed and wanted to cry cuz i didnt have the money........tried to tell the guy to hold it and I woulda payed 180 for it but he didnt and it was sold in minutes........
Mr. Capps, all respect, but I would maybe consider that statement if you said 7995,7998, 7949, 9861, F1 but not 9835 Nakamichi is great, but they got no nothin' (EQ, TC, XO) Just get a unit with Burr Brown DAC's and you are set
they have a unit with 2 control knobs, DUAL 24bit DAC's(one for each left and right channel) and a DUAL 13 band graphic equalizer....beat that mudafuka for however much they go for on ebay.....
oh yeah. forgot the built in XO's for the front and rear, XO for the Subwoofer channel. a subwoofer level output, front and rear level output(the little +6_-22 thingy) TA, EQs.....what more do you want sucka?
ive never owned any of those but i currently run the Clarion DXZ855MP .. the only thing it lacks is a good EQ but other than that it is a great unit.. ran it in my truck with those 2 SX 15s .. that thing would get down and do some flexing but the CD player never skipped a beat
from what i been reading online every1 says 06 alpines have gone down in quality
i love premier HUs & i also recently bought a brand new 05 eclipse cd5425 to test stuff out of a vehicle , im running it with a 13.8v dc adapter - sq is excellent , very easy 2 use & price i got it 4 i cant really complain ...
