My alt is whining.....

i had my system going for about 6 months and the alt didnt start whining til about the 5th month, i cant figure it out. right now i dont even have my system in, all i have is my wires, and i took the fuse out of my power wire,but it still whines... so what could be causing this?

Could this damage my alt?

the bearings in the alt may be bad.... is it a fact alt... how old....

no it was one from auotzone, like 3 or 4 years old i think, but just this week i put in a 200 amp alt from excessice and i think i heard it whine earlier today....may be mistaken.. but im pretty sure that what i heard

belts too tight.... put white bar soap on contact points-- hillbilly fix

already tried that before.....it seemed to work for about 2 minutes, then the sound came back again
