Hey I just bought 2 12" Gt4-12 JBL subs, I was just wondering if any one knew of a good 2 channel, 1000w amp to power them and if that would be my best option.

heres the specifications for one of the subs.

RMS - 250w
Peak - 1000w
Frequency Response - 28Hz-450Hz
Sensitivity - 93dB
Impedance - 4 Ohms

Cheers Maek

a 1000w amp would probably blow those subs. look at the rms, not the peak. try and find a good mono amp that puts out 500-600w. what's your budget for an amp?

of course they will.

you need an amp that does 500-600 @ 1 or 4 ohms. it doesnt matter if mono block or 2-channel.

kicker kx600.1 is a great amp ---- as so the pheonix gold xenon 600.1

i would look for a mono amp that does about 800rms or so at 2 ohms and wire the subs like that and connect the subs for the 2ohm load instead of 4...

first thing, those JBL are 4 SVC, if they are try getting a 2 ohm stable amp such as alpine mrd605, PG xenon 600.1, JL 500/1. If they're dual 4 ohm, try getting an amp 1 or 4 ohm stable, Directed d1200, check orion 600d, PG xenon 600.1 (again jeje with jl 500/1.)
