Subwoofer in the doors?

You would have to get one of those shallow mount subs (form pioneer) but, even if you do that, you would still have to make sure that you could still have room to roll down your window (unless your not going to anymore...).

Also, there is a possibility that you could shatter your window (or crack it at least).

Then there's also mounting dept., if there isn't enough space, then you will be loosing some bass from the sub.

Still though, i'd like to see it done and work nicely. :-)

yep ^^^ that pioneer sub is the only one i can think off thats shalow mount. but i dont think its worth it just get a normal sub box.....

well you can also get smaller like 6 and 6 1/2 inch subs and put those in the doors. wont get nearly as much thump as say a 10 or 12 but if you want to put them in the doors that would be a good way to go. you might be able to fit an 8 in there but it would need some work to fit it.

the only logical reason i would see some1 wanting 2 put a sub in their door is lack of space or not wanting 2 use any floor space .

u could prolly fit large as a 8" with a spacer/riser but obviously it would never sound as good as in a proper built/speced box ...

oh & a few other companies do make shallow mount subs - i recently saw 1 by JBL @ a local audioshop...

I have 8's in the door of my comp car and they work great. I built custom add on pods that i connected to the doors and I was set. Heres a pic.

its a midbass, but i've heard its louder than a lot of 8" subs and some 10" ones, lol. that thing has an inch of peak to peak excursion!
