How can i tell if my sub is blowin

i got 2 12 and one of them started to make a cracling noise but they where fine when i turnd my car off when i turend it bak on one was making that noise does ne one know why it is doing this or tell me how i can tell if its blowin

maybe the voice coild is scratching. im pretty sure you can tell your sub is blown if you look at it

yea i think lucas would be right.... take it out and smell it i would bet that the voice coil is overheating... melting the glue, making the voice coil unwind and destroying all that is holy... .. you might be over driving your sub... what kinda sub do you have?

take a AA battery and connect your +'s and -'s and your sub should move in and out if its not blown

or maybe check it with a multi meter on ohms setting of course also check the tinsel leads

same thing happened to my rf punch sub one has that crackling sound but still gets really loud
