or anyone else who has an opinion on this subject but it seems like you all know about comparing RE and Ascendant subs so, in your opinion would an Arsenal 15 given a solid 500 watts @ 4 ohms be louder and sound better than a SX15 given 700 @ 2 ohms? i'm not trying to underpower them i'm just stuck with this MRD-M1005.

thanks in advance

you're not gonna be able to give an SX anything at 2ohms unless you get dual 4 ohm coils (custom) they come standard with dual 2.

Going off of speculation, i would say the Arsenal will be louder and sound better. The ava and SX were neck and neck in output, and the arsenal is supposed to be louder than the ava, SiX says this is true as well... I say arsenal all the way, but that's just me

Not sure where Anthony got his specs from but the mrd-m1005 is 1000w at 2ohm and 700w at 4ohm, so he'd actually get 700 with the sx.

Also, all Arsenals have dual 4 ohm config so it'd recieve the same power...

oh yeah, the arsenals are D4 arent they. wire that arsenal up at 2 ohms and you'll get ur 700 at 12V and 1000 at 14.4V and call it a day.

Hey I have two Alpine Type R 12"s that are 4 ohms and Dual Voice Coil. They are 500 watts rms and 1500 watts peak each. Will this amp overpower them or will it match up well? Hifonics BXi 1606D, It runs 1600 watts which would mean I'd be running 800 watts to each sub, would that blow them out or is it a nice match, please answer back soon,

Thanks...

as long as that amp is one ohm stable, and i think it is, they will go fine with that amp. the subs will actually only see about 700-750 a piece and if done right (setting gains and such) you will be fine, but if you turn ur gains up to high or use bass boost and clip the signal then you will blow them.
