Why are the scores in the USA so low at SPL?
Are scores are a lot higher then yours.
Is it beacause SPL is out and Bass Race is a new hype?

This year Bass race also starts in the Netherlands lol, so we can also compite with you

SPL in the US has been down for some time. Most people with the real equipment only show up for 3x comps. Its just worth the points.
BASS RACE is cool I LOVE IT! What better than playing your music at 150db? Everyone had a blast at Bass Race a few week ago in ATL. Their still talkin about it.
This is the 150 club lineup:

1)Livewire- 158.3
2)Tommy- 154.1
3)Meade- 153.8
4)Will- 152.7
5)Pipo- 152.5
6)Bartell-151.2
7)Oki- 151.1
8)Neil- 150.5
9)McClelland- 150.2
10)?
11)?

This guy Big Dave had tons of fun, he went all out in the final round 149.5, what he holds is a 18inch MT. He is trying to make it to 150 club.

I'm by no means an SPL competitor, but I know we hold the current world record, and have for a long time (forever?) to the best of my knowledge.

Maybe someone else has better details.

What do you mean "our scores are a lot higher than yours"?
What ARE YOUR scores?

in the street classes...small hatchbacks rule the leader boards (CRX's)

in some European countries, you can get VERY small street legal cars. These small cars do well in spl.

OMFG! I'm retarded. It took me a good 30 seconds before I realized that the VC on that MT was f*cked up! I sat here and thought "Now something's wrong with that sub... But what is it?". Can't believe it took me that long...

Keep in mind car audio in general is growing at a much faster rate in other countries, the US is kind of in a slump compared to the early 90s. SPL is about as popular if not a bit more, but the extreme drop in SQ participation has countered that effect.

in general, in america young, quick and easy is outdoing wise, methodical, and tedious. intentionally so, imo.

meh SPL events aren't my thing.
I'm actually getting really tired of all the sanctioning bodies going to heavily SPL weighted scoring, with such little room for pure SQ people.

The Extreme Classes is just who has the biggest wallet.
im from the Netherlands and Car audio is much more expensive in Europe as in the US 2 or 3x.
So we are playing in lower classes but in that classes we are superior tot the US.
And youre right about small cars because we have the Fiat Panda its small and extremly loud

yeah gee too much power for me.. my measily 3000 watts of clean RMS class AB power could hardly move my tweeters.. and that puny 300A alternator only lets me use one headlight at a time.. left or right ya know.

Thunder...you are right about the Fiat Panda. It is the European equivalent of the CRX's that run the show in street classes in the US.

Just like the famous CRX boxes that you see in all the SUVs and hatches now...there is a "panda box" that is starting the float around too. it take advantange of the panda's charateristics just like the CRX box does in hatches. I have heard that panda's like to peak as high as 70hz+!

Small cars and hatchback tend to have up to a +3db advantage over trunk-cars and full-size trucks. (simply because of their acoustics) also, mini-trucks are starting to do well in the US. (S10's, rangers, ect)

Quite a few European guys are going to bandpass walls in the extreme classes, and they are having some VERY nice results.

I plan on swapping over to aero-ports in my box very soon. i have had a few friends that gained just by swapping over to them. I'm going to 2 6" pvc ports flared to 8.5".

Glasswolf I would feel the same as you; compared to these guys who are runing 7000rms and up.... With 3 300a alternators. Or with a Alma Gates charging system? =D

Marshall you will never go back, after trying those aero ports!!

i how your right B,

my dad used to work the the local water system...and i know the board members, so i can get pretty much all the 6" PVC i will ever need free? maybe even some 8" and 10" :-)

i'm planning on doing a few 6" flared ports this weekend. i'm just gonna keep my current box and build a port baffle w/ the 2 6"ers on it so i can keep using my interchangable ports. I would love to break 150dB w/ 1 SX15 and 1200wrms :-)
