fiberglass doesn't really do anything to the box. All it does is when you get done sanding it and all that, it makes the box look good, not like the wood look. The sound would still sound the same even if it was just mdf wood.
glassing the outside might stiffen it up, but could end up look pretty goofy. Also realize that fibreglass is weakest in long flat areas with little contour.
