How do you get metered? Is there a device that meters? Where can you get one if there is?

Mark from The Car Audio Box-(TCAB) seems to be conviced that my SE 10" in the ported box hes building me can easily reach 145db, i just cant see that happening. the guy has done some amazing stuff with his boxes and alpine type-r's. well i guess theres the slightest posability. i will be powering it by a mtx 6001 600w rms

Adam, nothings impossible. 145 is reachable with a single 10. I just wouldnt expect an SE to do it with 600w though. but... with the right install it's possible, I guess.

oh and Adam, I had an MTX MXA4001 and I liked it a lot. It's a pretty clean little amp, maybe even a little underrated. That amp will be good on an SE.

"ya if two 12" type x's hit 146.5, i dont think theres anyway my little SE10 will get near them numbers."

my buddies mtx 10 8000 on 800 rms did like 142 db and I could help him hit more if he wouldnt be so proud and take me serious but he wont .....anyway point being 145 db is totally doable

alex, no not close at all. my roof flexes 1.5 inches peek to peek but thats because its flexible metal. its kinda cool tho i can put change on top and it bounces a few inches up and down.

you would have to have a huge amount of pressure to break the windows. i think glasswolf had a thread about that awhile back, you might wanna check it out.

jake,
what meter did you use?
and how did you meter it? (on the floor-board, on the dash, or at the head rest...w/ door and windows open of closed?)

adam,
i cant remember his name but i know of a guy is already doing 144ish w/ 1 RE SE 10. it is in a single cab S10. the seat is all the way forward w/ the sub and port firing up. (its strickly an SPL install...a 1 note wonder w/ ~1200w)

marshall,
it was a termlab.
we tried both the dash and the floor but the dash was higher.
with the doors open it was 145, closed it was 146.5. windows open score was less than 145.

i want to dynomat it before i start school again next month. maybe get a new amp or something fun with christmas money.

does anyone know of any quality yet somewhat cheap 7' screens for headrests? please post. thanks
