Dead speaker sometimes

I have a stock delco am/fm/cd player in my 2000 blazer. I thought the 1 6x9 was dead so I replaced it. The new speaker worked fine for 1 day and now it's not working either. Is this a deck problem with one of the channels? Thanks.
