Repairing a broken sub

hey guys, I recently blew my 15 inch kicker, I was wondering is there anyway to fix it? it blew around the top edge, the like rubber seal came off. Can I just glue it back on or something?

did u blow the voice coil? fixing the surround wont help a blown coil...

uhh I dont think its a voice coil, its the rubber part around the sub that moves

when you blow a sub u blow the coil, anyways does it sound distorted when you play it?

"blow" the coil? there are a number of different ways to blow a sub. pushing it beyond its mechanical limits is one of them. the surround is just one of the sub's mechanical component. damaging the coil can be either thermal or mechanical.

the surround is the part that is broken. is there a way to fix that?

go to www.partsexpress.com and then search for glue. thats what i did

that works man. I couldnt wait on the glue forever so i just bought some automotive silicone and fixed mine. i looks sh!tty but sounds great

what happens if you put a hole in the surrounding with a screwdriver I ave a friend that did should he just use the glue
