A velocity would also be nice, but expensive...

I wouldn't waste time with anything from blaupunkt myself.

what are you looking for in an amp?
what sort of power? how many channels?
what will the amp(s) be driving?

Well, since I'll still have 2 available channels in my alpine, i'm thinking of a 3-channel amp around 200W each ch. with loads of current to drive the Proaudio speakers, and a sound quality similar to my alpine...
TIA

Oh, and the 3rd channel would drive a sub, something like a 12" Pioneer...
TIA

Which I think would all come down to a high power class T amp, wouldn't you say so? I mean, I'm trying to avoid class D amps...
TIA

class T is class D. there really is no such thing as class T. its a marketing term.

if you want 200w x 2 from an amp, that's going to be expensive.
look at a Kicker KX800.4
that's 100wRMS x 4 @ 4 ohms, but bridged, you'd get 200wRMS x 2 @ 4 ohms. the amp is around $250 US

for the sub, look at a matching Kicker KX600.1
that'd give you 600wRMS x 1 @ 2 ohms which would handle a pair of 300 watt 12" subs or a single 4+4 ohm DVC 12" sub rated for ~600watts very well.

oh and if you want to go really high end, look at Zapco (www.zapco.com) for both amps.
look at the Reference and Competition C2K line amplifiers.
they make fantastic class AB amps, and some of the best class D sub and full range amps you'll ever find. Especially if you choose to match them to their SymbiLink components for signal processing and equalization.

my next system will use 2 C2K amplifers and their pre-amp/EQ.
