Reverse Mounting

I went to my local audio shop and seen a sub that was mounted reverse. The cone was firing inside the box, and the magnet was sticking out. I was thinking about doing this, but have no idea what it sounds like. I wanted to hear it but it wasn't hooked up. Thanks!

no difference. just a matter of increased enclosure volume since you are not displacing the motor structure and basket (it's now outside the box). so just take this into consideration when constructing the box.
the only potential issue is the mechanical noise introduced by the motor itself. but this is not always evident. particularly in trunk applications.

looks great though. just be sure to have major tint on your windows. that's the next step for me. been broken into twice without it. guess it favors an "invitation."
