Help buildling box....

i'm buildling a ported box for a p3, the interior volume is suppose to be 1.75 cubic feet... i can make it 18 length, 15 width, 15 height with 3/4 inch mdf, it comes out to be 1.74... i used this site to get all these calcs... it also says to make the port.. which i'm making out of pvc pipe... 3 inch diameter piping it says to make like 5.8 inches long for 37 hertz.. tell me if all these calcs are straight thanks... here's the site i used http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#por

yep, your good dude, just make sure you calculate the displacement of the sub. If your sub takes up .25 cubic ft of space, then you want to build a box that is 2 cu ft because after the sub is placed into the box you will have 1.75 cu ft of air in the box.

ALSO, dont forget that anything you put in the box takes up space. Even the port, and if you box size is off, it changes the frequency of the port. In order to tune your box to a certain frequency you have to have the subs playing while you adjust the length of the port.

To find out the displacement of the sub, check out the brand name homepage for your subwoofer, and find the specs on it, and it will tell you.

Displacement - 141.70 cu in. what is that in relation to cubic feet???
