i got a sony xplod amp with 1000 watts peak 500x2 and 330 rms (165x2). If i bridge it, will the alpines with 500 rms adn 1500 peak lose quality because the rms fo teh alpines is considerably higher than that of the amp?
major time. That sony isn't putting out clean power at all. The type R requires clean power for it to get moving. Switch up the amp buddy, and you'll have a MUCH better sounding system.
I HAD the NEW sony line of amps the XSMDM or somthing like it...600rms and 1400MAX with 2 12" Apline Type R's....I hit 139.6 db in db drag at the Usaci western Finals in Kelowna..I came 5th place..I beat people with WAY better systems than me.....and I have NO deadening in my car...just tossed everything in the back.... never over heated or any problems..I liked it better than the Rockford I had...600 watts and it ALWAYS overheated after like 30 mins.....took it back and they sent it to Rockford....and they said it was fine....
