I have a SVC subwoofer that is 3.9 ohms and rated 400w rms. (http://www.hsustore.com/asw1203.html). I decided to go with this unknown company because there home theater sub really kicks as...

A guys in a local shop told me that I better go with a 2 channel amp bridged to power my single sub instead of a mono, what do you think?

Any suggestion on an amp for that? I'd like around 300w rms and looking more for SQ.

Thanks

the enclosure and sub itself will be the main determinanats in getting good SQ.
it's better to go with a mono class d amp. just yer overall best bet.
as far as choosing a reliable amp, do a thread search for good brand names.

a 2 channel amp bridged will give you a 4ohm load. So it would work. if you go for a mono amp, you will be paying almost double more money for the same amount of wattage output @ 4ohms. mono amps are usually used for 2ohm or 1ohm setups. Its up to you. A mono amp is your best bet, but at a higher cost.

About sound quality, I think your best bet would be to send a good clean 400w to 450w to your sub in a sealed enclosure.

my 2 cents.
