Hifonics brutus 1800.1 or kicker 1200.1? both around the same price, but which is a better quality amp. im sure this kicker is good, but what about hifonics?
The reason why I don't like Hifonics isn't just power numbers. What's important to me is the cleanliness of the output power at the rated number. Lots of people love this brand cause of high wattage and low price. You will never get something for nothing. I bet if you actually tested Hifonics for their advertised numbers, you'd get clipping/distortion more than the actual music. It's fine for powering L7s but like I said before, not for RE XXX/IDMax/W7 etc. That is what separates Hifonics from Zapco/JL/Xtant/US Amps.
I agree, if your going for pure SPL and dont care about SQ than Hifonics might be good for you if your on a budget. However, Hifonics is very contradicitive if your using it to power a SQ sub.
