so to set the gain level on my amp, put it all the way down, and then turn up my hu's volume untill i hear distortion, then keep it there, then turn the gain up intil i hear no distortion.
another question, what do i do with the bass that the deck puts out do i put that all the way down to - #'s or keep it at zero. thanks for the help
If you don't know the output voltage from your HU, then you need to do it audibly, but not that way. Turn your gain all the way counter-clockwise. Turn the volume on your HU to "about" 3/4 volume. Now, slowly turn your gain clockwise until you hear distortion, then turn your gain back counter-clockwise just a bit.

oh i see thanks a bunch, but what about the equalizer in my deck what do i do with that bass read out, turn it to zero or -7
