In spl, the MT's hands down, but an MT, and w7 are ment for 2 totally different perposes.
The MT is an spl woofer only, and the W7 is an sql sub.

Then defanently the RE MT.
Put it to a huge amp, and a well built ported box, and he'll have his spl.:-) lol

hey taylor17, do you think lower frequencies will be giving out with a sealed box and be louder to you r ear then a vented box, is vented only louder to your ear but doesn;t hit the low frequencies. what do you think?

Hmmm, hard to say.
To me, low frequencies doesn't even sound that loud to me.
For spl, its better to tune high.
Anyway... vented should still be louder.

You can hit low bass with vented. Tune the port to 25Hz.
Anyone using W7 for SPL is half moron. A waste too.
Couple of MTs will be loud enough to break your glass. I have one and it's very loud. At above 1200w rms - 1500w rms, it sounds great, no distortion/bottoming out. From a block away, MT will sound better than W7 at that power range (that's 1 W7 vs 1 MT). I've tried it.

i know that mt are way better than w7 in that quality, im just asking in overall subs and boxes does the sealed hit lower frequencies than the vented, because i heard that sealed hits lower but vented is louder to you ear

No, sealed has flatter response curve. Vented will hit the lows, but will have sharper drop off past the tuned frequency.

The only real positive about a sealed inclosure is it has a larger bandwidth than a ported inclosure.
