yea 2 subs can be powered by one Class D(which is mono/single channel) amp it just depends on the ohm and voice coil configuration of your amp..if its single VC then look for a 800rms at 2ohms amp and if their dual4ohm then look for 800rms at 1ohm
for cheap and reliable brands look into Kicker,MTX,and JBL

so if i were to look at an amp that said

"800 Watts x 1 into a 2Ohm load"

that would be what i wanted ?

and yes they're SVC, shoulda mentioned that :S

That Orion 2500D is waaaay too powerful & would literally bust ya subs - it puts out 1700wrms @ 2 ohms .

if the subs are single 4 ohm coil subs, you want an amp rated for about 600-1000 watts RMS @ 2 ohms (mono amp)

wiring both subs together in parallel to the amp will present a 2 ohm load, and the power will be split between the subs, so each will get 300 to 500 watts.

so

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3012.html

that would be a better amp for my power range, provides 750 @ 2 ohms and can be bought on ebay with shipping for 300 bucks

any thumbs up or downs ?

thanks again

Eh - price in Pounds ,u buying that in England ?

It says 725 @ 2ohms & u need 800 so i'm not sure if that amp can underrated by @ least 75wrms , maybe some 1 out there who saw a benchmark test of it can answer that .....

check this out too , it can also fit the bill

ones too weak, other is too powerful, but im sure i can lower the mroe powerful one to a nice setting, id rather a nice cool amp pumping my subs than a small one practically on fire tring to power them

get the amp that's over the power you need, and ust be judicious with the volume knob. simple as that.
