How do i know my output of amp

this might be a stupid question but lets say i have a 1500 rms amp and i want only 1000 rms of it how do i know how much im puting out .. do i use a voltmeter or something ?

pretty simple way is just don't go past 2/3 of full volume.

lol i figured that but theres not only the voltage theres the bass boost i turn that 2/3s also and what does sub sonic do

subsonic filter should be set to the frequency of you r sub box's tuned port. usually around 30-45Hz.
this prevents your sub from palying notes below that frequency and unloading, or losing damping and blowing out the sub.
if the box is sealed, set to 20Hz just to avoid wasting power on notes you can't hear
