I have a Jensen 375 watt bass tube that i got from a friend but i dont know how many watts RMS it is. I need an amp for it but i dont know what would be safe for the tube since i dont know the rms wattage. Would 200 watt rms be ok?

There's no other numbers on the tube? Usally it's about half the peak!

Naw the tube only says 375. well, as for the amp, just to be safe would a more powerful amp like a 400 watt rms at 4ohms be ok? does it matter if the amp overpowers the bass tube?

Its better to underpower it if anything. Just keep the gain on the amp a bit on the lower side. Im sure theres a way to see if that numeral is RMS, or Peak.

I have a feeling its Peak. i checked on the backside of the speaker and it doesnt say anything cept where its made. But i think its peak because it says 375 watts system power

Like Jack said, usually the RMS is roughly half of it. Beware those tubes aren't worth much of an investment, and i would really stay clear of them.
