I saw a picture somewhere, where a person used a computer power supply to power an amplifier which enabled him to use his sub in his house. I have 3 or 4 power supplies laying around and 2 low powered amps(300watts rms@4ohm) And I would like to know if anyone knows how exactly to do it.

Yeah, there are threads pertaining to that around the site, you just need to use the search feature.

Most high power PC power supplies put out 30-40 amps on a +12V rail.

Would that be enough for your amp.... that's 360 - 480 watts. Considering 60% efficiency of your amp thats 216 - 290 watts of actual output power. Give or take. If it's an efficient sub, I suppose it'd be possible.
