I bought a new pioneer and it skips everytime I hit a tiny bump!!! I don't want to waste money when the 98 I have works better But I hooked it up in my 96 ford explorer 4dr and I had sound but the spekers poped when I turned it on or changed songs. Then all of a sudden it quit no more sound!!! I can't figure out why??

What Pioneer is it? I don't really like their build quality. Go with an Alpine with a yellow sticker by the bar code. I've owned them for years, and no problems. But everyone I know has problems with their Pioneer.

All 1996 Ford Explorers have external amplifiers bro. You're gonna have to rewire. The amp is behind the rear passenger side trim pannel. Sorry to break the bad news, rewiring is a hassle. If you look with a flashlight back inside where the rear passenger seat belt goes into the panel, you should be able to see the ominous aluminum heat sink.
