okay these are exterior dimensions of the box...

30 inch width
18 inch height
15 inch depth
4.6875cuft

so the port will be 3.5 inches wide and 16.5 inches tall.... and have a port length of 49.62 inches...... will that give me a 24 hz tune?

im confusied i just know i want a box perfect for an ava 15 iwth a JL1000/1 and a 24hz tune lol

can a port even work like that lol i think so...

and i want to coat the whole interior and exterior of the box in resin like the guy did on that site showing about the 2 chamber abc box for the 6.5s... and also i want to round the port corners with pvc and resin like he did also... i hope im not in over my head

wether i do internal or external.... and what does net mean... does that mean subtracting displacement, walls and ports?

when u count the volume dont count the port volume just the internals of the box

okay ... or tell me if this enclosure would work well with a 15 avalanche and a JL 1000/1...

go to
http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/l-ported-box.htm
for net volume put 4.6875
24Hz tuning frequency
i put .18 for displacement i dont really know
box width 40. box height 18

im realy not sure as to what volume/shape would give me the best outcome....

how much of a difference does the box make? Does it make the sound quality better or does it just change the type of sound produced?

Cool, people are using my program!

Trevor, the program determines port area based on two guidelines for minimizing port noise:

A minumum of 10 square inches per square foot, and at least a 9:1 ratio between height and width.

Port width and port height make up port area. Port area and tuning frequency determine length.

Tuning lower usually means it's going to move more air at resonance, and that might be a reason for making the port wider. 10 square inches of port area to a single cubic foot of airspace is usually enough to prevent noise in most cases, though I'm sure someone disagrees.

PJ... the box means EVERYTHING! it determins how a sub will sound, how loud it cang et, how much power it can handle... its 20% equipment and 80% enclosure
