I have four 2 ohm dual voice coil 12inch kicker L7's. I will be running them on a new BD1000. When the shop installed them they ran it in series. But I know they will be much louder if i run them in parrallel. but is it safe for the woofers and amp. (the bd1000 is a mono amp and 1ohm capable)

you have no other option but to run them is series parellell unless you want to cook your amp really really fast!

yeh beacuse if you run it in parrelel doesnt that mean you're going to be pushing them at like .25 ohm load.

well that means u have a 2 ohm load and if your amp is 4 ohm stable your unstable wire both your subs at 8 ohms and bridge them to make them 4 before u do any damage to your amp

No, thats not possible, because think of it like this, when your messing with ohms, every time you HALVE an ohm, you DOUBLE your POWER, so if u have taken algebra, or math in general lol, you know that if u keep halving somen you will keep just getting a smaller number, never ever reach zero but get close but keep going, and if u cant reach zero you cant get to negs

Mike, no, .25 ohms is definitely not safe for that amp. I've personally never seen an amp that can go blow .5, and then again they are top quality amps. I've never heard of people running below .5 ohms either. Can you imagine how hot the amp would get running at .25 oms? Why would you even want to try it?

Dayum, Sub I'm impressed.

You're exactly correct.

A perfect amplifier designed and built by the Almighty himself would produce an infinite amount of power into a 0 ohm load.

Can you say "Big Bang"?

hehe
