Kx400.1 4GA or 8 GA ?

The amp's manual recommends 4GA wire, would using 8GA be okay?
What effect will there be (if any) in going from a 4GA to 8GA?

the 400.1 draws moer than the rated current for 8ga wire so yes, use 4ga or larger.
using 8ga is going to cause current loss via resistance, which generates heat.
you'll melt the 8ga wire, which will cause a short and quite probably a car fire.

damn- i was gonna try the same thing, wanted to use my existing 8 guage on this amp:

it says it uses 4 guage, but the wire is only 8 feet so i thought it would compensate?
