Amp to Xover Question

I'm running a Rockford 551x (4channel - 70 watts x4) to MB Quart DSE216's. I can not bi-amp with the xovers I have. Can I wire one side to the mid woofers straight from the amp on one channel and wire the other channel to the xover - then to the tweeter, and vice versa for the other side? Are there any advantages if this can be done rather than how the MB Quart manual says to standard wire the system?

I guess the best way to go about this is to bridge the two channels?

yeah just bridge the amp and run one channel to each crossover.
bi-amping is only helpful to get more power than one amp can offer. it has drawbacks like messing up time alignment if everything isn't perfectly balanced. generally bi-amping is more trouble than it's worth for SQ.
