How do i wire a dual voice coil sub for 2 ohms???

right now i have each channel hooked up to each sid of the amp i think that is 4ohm how do i hook it up for 2ohm and is it even possible.

wire the positive terminal on one side to the negative on the other voice coil with one wire then wire the remaining positive to the positive of the amp and the remaining negative to the negative of the amp for an 8 ohm bridge this will cut your power in half maybe more since you wer runing 2 ohms before but your amp will run cooler and probably wont shut down on you

hook positive to positive on the sub, then run it to the positive of one channel on your amp. Then do negative to negative on the sub, then run that to the negative on the other channel of your amp. it'll be bridged at 2 ohms.

do i bridge it? will it be louder than one voice coil to one channel and the other voice coil to the other channel? which is how is is wired now.

no they way you have it is ok in stereo .....the amp is stable at 2 ohms that way buy youll need to cut out the higher frequencies with something like an fmod or electronic crossover...you do have both coils wired up right? if so how? I wanna make sure your wired correctly

well your wired fine but if your going to sell them amp dont bother with the crossover and buy an amp with one built in but be carefull with how loud you play it without a crossover or fmod those higher frequencies can damage a sub if played to hard
