Thats not bad,but I would recommend that you get a decent set of component speakers like Infinity or CDT, and a small 2 channel amp to run them. It will sound better, and you don't need rear speakers.. they generally only hurt the imaging created by your front speakers. Infinity Reference comps are cheap, heres one fro like $90 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32818%26item%3D5764425521 %26 and for an amp to power those you'll need something like an MTX Thunder 282 as seen here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39735%26item%3D5765318693 %26 Hope this helps you.

i agree david. that's a great recommendation. a set of components powered by an amp will definitely be your best bet steve. i've got that set and they sound great for the price - much better than coaxials. for rear speakers, just use your stock ones and power them with the head unit. you'll also want to put some simple low-pass crossovers (until you get a sub, then bandpass crossovers) on them so they wont play the highs and mess up your imaging like david said. here's a good write-up on rear-fill.

What about the tweeters, how do I install them? My car right now doesn't have them or the spots where you can mount them.

Take time and gather more money, it'll be more worth it in the long run, because you may end up paying more just replacing the stuff you bought. As for the tweeter, they come with hardware to install them, but you may need to cut a small hole in the door panel.

Is speaker installation easy? I went to Best Buy and they said it would cost $125 to install a pair of front speakers and a head unit...

The head unit is a little tricky, you may want to get that done professionally. But as far as speakers go, if you are only hooking them up to the head unit, its cake work.
