What are good entry level subs for car audio novices?

whats your price range? I dont really believe in entry level subs cause there are always a good sub for someone's budget.

yeh like RE re line of subs. Those are supposedly entry line subs, but there still louder and sound better than some manufactuars middle line to top line equipment

in that range look into www.reaudio.com , www.ascendant audio.com or www.imagedynamicsusa.com check out the RE line from RE, the Atlas from Ascendant audio, and the ID and IDQ series from image dynamics. All great stuff. Also look into Cerwin vega v-max if you want to.

How about Alpine-R? Are they good?

yeah they are OK I really am not that impressed with them personally but there are alot of people on here that like them. I havnt heard the new ones but I really am not a big fan of the old ones.

How about Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1? Are those any good for beginners if I want SQ and some SPL?

Yes, they are good; but it also depeds on your enclosure. For the price of the Infinity Perfect, I would rather have the Ascendant Audio Atlas 12".
