I just bought an audiobahn 8000T and it says to get 800w wire it at 2 Ohms. How do i wire 2 4 ohm dual voicecoil subs together to reach 2 ohms?

either wire the VC's of each sub in series, then the subs in parallel
or wire the VC's of each sub in parallel, then the subs in series.

i think the first set up is reccomended though

hmm, lets see here. If you series the voice coils each sub would be 8 ohms, combne those subs in parallel and your back to 4 ohms. If you parallel the voice coils to 2 ohms each sub, then series the subs together, you get 4 ohms again. So, you are royally SOL! 2 ohms cant happen. You could however, get a 1 ohm load, but i would have serious doubts in my mind that an audiobahn could drive a 1 ohm load without turning into liquid chrome. Get a better amp.

haha, sorry, thought you were trying to get them to 4 ohms, misread your question.
get 2 more subs, then you can get it, lol

So there is no possible way to get them to 2 ohms?

nope, but i'm sure you could like wire up resistors from radio shack or something, but you'd prob just end up screwing some stuff up, lol

I guess i'll have to settle with 400 watts instead of 800 watts. (tear)

well, + in the audiobahn factor and you get about 200 watts, with about 90% distortion lol.

just as brandon said wire up some resistors, but i think you would be better off using inductors instead of resistors.
