First let me say this site rocks, everyone here is awesome- it's so hard to find a good forum like this. Anyway, I'm starting an install for a viper 791xv; the power input wires (heavy guage red) have fuses already, but the manual mentions adding more fuses within 12 inches of the connection to the 12V constant ignition supply. Does anyone know which side (key side or opp. side) of this connection I want to insall fuses?

Also, to avoid damaging anything in general when installing the alarm what are the main things to remember: disconnect the battery when splicing wires? Don't touch any 12V power source to other wires?

Thanks!

you said "disconnect the battery when splicing wires?" if you do that, how will you test to see if you have the right wire?

you should take it to an installer and let them do it. if you don't know how to do it, it's worth it to let someone who does do it.
it's cheaper than having to get a repair for an electrical fire.
