Isaac (or anybody reading)

I'm looking to get an Orion HCCA 250, but there's like 4 or 5 diff. kinds. So what exactly is the differnce between the G4, G5, Digital Reference, and the R models? I'm sure they're all good, but which one's are the best?

different generations is all.
first gen were the 250HCCA with the more squared look and the old Orion "star" emblem.
second gen had the newer rounded fins and the current "planet" Orion emblem.
the G4 I believe started the internal crossover modules that could be set by replacing the IC chips under the bottom panel.
The "G" and "R" stuff all came post-DEI buyout.
they're all good, but personally I prefer the pre-DEI models with the DIN adapters on the side between the RCA jacks

Thanks a lot Glass, finally. I thought the g4's were before the DEI buyout though? I guess not.

Joe, stick to G4 or G5.1. The other G model was made after DEI buyout. The quality is not as good.
For components/subs, G4 offers the best possible combination. You can set it as LP/HP and BP.
The first generation amps will NEED a bridging module to operate in bridged mode.
