I was thinking of using an MTX801D to power this sub, would this be enough power? The subs rated 750rms...

I would think so, I've heard they can handle more than they are rated.

i only know bc i was looking at amps for the same sub and i wanted mtx but they didnt really have one that fit well

The mtx amps are underrated and that 801D would putting out more than 800 wrms at 2 ohm,

IMO, this amp is a good match for that sub if your not willing to pay the extra bucks for a good 1000 watt class d amp.

its not that i'm not willing, its that i dont have that kind of money to spend on a system, i have other bills and whatnot i have to pay...

800 watts at 2 ohm is still no good, maybe im wrong but im pretty sure you have to run it at 4 ohm

jus get the dual 4 oh ti and wire it down to 2 ohms for d 801

good amp, good sub, good price and it wouldnt kill ur wallet.

ya me too. i have a lot i need to do to my system, but it has been raining crazy here. i need to build a new box, i need to build some custom pieces so i can fit 6.5s in my front doors, instead of 4x6s need to install my 225 hcca. what did you end up getting?
