Derek A. Unregistered guest | Hey guys i'd like to thank anyone in advance for their help I really appreciate it. Anyways I have plenty of cash and i'm looking to build the best system possible under my circumstances. I drive a 2004 subaru wrx sti so it's not a huge car or a hatchback which limits my space a little. Here's what i was thinking about for my system. I have an apple ipod and i want to integrate it with my head unit. Car Audio: Apple Ipod www.apple.com Clarion Head Unit and DVD Dash VRX755VD (Ipod integration) http://www.clarion.com/usa/products/multimedia/VRX755VD.html JL Audio 12 W7 (2) http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/12w7.html JL Audio 1000/1 Amplifier (2) http://www.jlaudio.com/amps/10001.html JL Audio Pro Wedge W7 Enclosure http://www.jlaudio.com/enclosures/CLS112RGW7.html JL Audio Evolution 3 - way component system. http://www.jlaudio.com/evolution/XR653CS.html Optima Battery - Should I get a red top or yellow top? http://www.optimabatteries.com/publish/optima/americas0/en/config/product_info/a utomotive.html I know with this kind of power im going to need to soundproof my vehicle... any suggestions here? |

I doubt many people would find that JL is their favorite for every component of their system (just statistics ), there may be other components that you like better. JL isn't bad by any means, I'm just saying to weigh out your options so you don't regret anything later. You can definately afford killer components and subs. As far as the battery, make sure to get an alternator first. |

Derek A. Unregistered guest | I am going to use a JL 1000/1 amp for each of my speakers. Yes I did forget the alternator thanks guys The JL 13 W7 is nice too but will 2 of them fit in the back of a subaru? As far as sound proofing goes does anyone have any knowledge regarding http://www.quietcar.net/. Apparently you can soundproof your car more efficiently and much cheaper using some sort of brush-on / spray-on substance. Many thanks for all of your help. |

There are many solutions for sound deadening out there, you can search this forum for them. Brown Bread, Edead, Dynamat, etc. The stuff on that website does work, you can also look at this: http://www.coollizard.com Great stuff. Plus, you can layer Dynamat or similar stuff on top of it to get even further sound deadening, as you can with the stuff you listed above. |

Like Robbie said get the Yellow top. I have 4 running 3 U.S. Amps DE-3000 and 2 MB Quart QAA4250 Quad Mono Amps and they work great. Make sure to upgrade your alternator though. |
