Memphis Subs

Right now I have 2 12" Memphis M3 DVC's running off a Memphis 1000d at 1 ohm (1100 rms) in a sealed box. They sound pretty good but I want something with more SPL so I wanted to look into getting a ported box. Anyone have any recommendations on how this should be built. And also the subs are only rated at 300rms each so if I keep running 550 watts to each and put them in a ported enclosure will they fry? Any help is appreciated.

have you tried memphisaudio.com they make boxes and probably give specs on them too. that is a great amp.:-) well i think the m3s can take 550 in a ported box but just try turning your amp down a little.

dude
get the 12" m3mojos and wire them at 2ohm giving around 550watts RMS to each sub. i know that is underpowering them but i RECENTLY put them in a 5.5ft^3 ported box off a 1000d amp and when i turn it up, i can hardly breathe in my car. the mojos are some massive subs
