JL is, by far, the best choice in that category, obviously depending on which sub series you're referring to. Don't limit yourself to only those companies though. Tons of good equipment out there.
Unless you have a cross over in your system. I like my subs under 500 Hz frequency and dual voice coils @4ohms. I like a lot of bass and the DVC @4ohms gives you a few ways to hook it up. I like them @2ohms pulls more from the amp. Just something to think about.
