I bought a new to me used Jeep a few months back and it has a Kenwood KDC PS809 Stereo in it. My problem is that When it was installed they activated the security code feature. My understanding is that if I have to disconnect the battery or if I lose power to the radio, that I will not be able to use the radio after the power is restored. Is there anyway to eliminate this "codeOn"? Or any ideas how I can get around it. I just don't want to have to buy a new stereo just because I might get a dead battery.

Thanks in advance,

Rebel

I really hope someone can help me with this. It's working now, but when I go to change the battery I'm going to lose a perfectly good stereo.

I say you tell the dick who installed it to fix the problem for you opposed to finding a solution yourself. On that Kenwood I don't think you will lose everything if you turned it off, but I wouldn't take the risk if someone told you that.
