Recently installed a new Kenwood head unit (kdc-x789) in a 1980 Trans Am, whoever had the car before me must have taken the wire harness out so i had to wire the 12 volt constant and the ignition wires to the fuse box, as well as make a ground, i am using preouts to an amp for 6x9's and door speakers. so i am only using 3 wires from the head unit wire harness. Which brings me to my problem, while iam driving and have my head unit at a high volume level it will turn off and then immediatly turn back on, also sometimes when i use the turn signal the head unit will cut out and then turn back on. Also if i put my car in park the head unit will cut off and turn back on immediatly. I double checked the constant and ignition wires to make sure they were in the right place on the fuse box, the head unit saves all its settings and turns on and off with the ignitnon. So iam stumped, could it be a problem with the alternator or the battery?? Any help would be great thanx Tim
