i m currenly using a jbl 600.1 for my brahma.

1) i was planning to buy either HiFonics BX 1000D / 1500D for it.

which one will not pose a problem to me without an Alt upgrade ?

both are overrated, correct ? i read somewhere that when measured the 1000D gives only 700w at 1ohm.. so should i look into the 1500D 'cause it wont be much of an upgrade then!

2) if the kicker kx600.1 can run at 1ohm i can buy it from my friend. can it run at 1ohm? i know its 2ohm stable but so is jbl 600.1 n it runs at 1ohm withouth a glitch.

i dont mind dimming lights as they anyways do !
and i dont listen cranked up all the time.

3) will only a 1F Capacitor do ? i cant really spend much. i read on this site what Glass has said on this issue. but will this suffice ? considering i get everything internationally shipped, it becomes too expensive.

no, you just have no patience.

wire it all up and see.
if the lights dim, you need to upgrade.

no way to tell. depends on your car, the alternator, your listening habits, and plenty of other factors. gotta try it and see.

no. the JBL BP series amps and the Kicker KX1200.1 are all rated for 1 ohm operation, and stated as such in their manuals.
the Kicker kx600.1 is only stable to 2 ohms.

i dont mind dimming lights as they anyways do !

you SHOULD mind them.
that means your amps are clipping and you're destroying your speakers. it also means you're destroying your car's alternator, and probably causing damage to other systems as well, not to mention running the risk of the car stalling while you're driving it.
Remind me not to be on the road when you drive.

ok, if you don't believe me, here are more links you can read up on for capacitor and charging system info:

i bet Glass, dont you even get the slightest idea that i am trying to test you, man! you are way way up there. i m just beginning to understand what is to be understood.

yeah i know the site bcae1 since a long time. i refer to it for the box building and have looked up to understand how the sub actually functions and all. But its all superficial and i really dont understand when it comes to the technicalities because i m basically a medical student (doing dentistry), bit by this bug a few years ago ! i own a range of gadgets and can turn the pc inside out.. but surely for somethings i need to ask people like you.

1) BX1000D for 1 12"brahma, is it good ? i dont think i ll ever have the space in my car trunk for two of them.
dont ask me about my listening habits, as long as it is worthy of pushing a brahma but at the same time not smoking it up ! i need it to be good and not Xtreme !!

2) havent read your links yet but i bet they ll be worth a dekko. few months down the line i ll go for an Alt upgrade and all the necessary things. rome, ofcourse wasnt build in a day !

thanks Glass.

I understand. Sometimes people hear a lot of misinformation too, and don't know who to listen to, so I try to provide cited data to back up stuff people have a hard time with. This is one of those topics that frequently has a lot of heated debate over the right way to do things.

that'll be fine for a brahma. that sub can use as little as 500 watts RMS to reach full output depending on the box type.
if you want a lot of output with good SQ from a single twelve like that, go with a vented enclosure. it's a bit larger than a sealed box, but smaller than two sealed twelves, and the output will be much more suited to what you're after.
