Eclipse SW-8102.4 10" sub. 500 watts rms. Will a 600 x 1 rms amp work for this sub without blowing it. I hope it will cause i cant find a well priced 500 x 1 rms amp. Amp needs to be around 200 dollars. Please help. Im trying to get a good eclipse system. Amp doesnt need to be eclipse though.

If you set your gains right, a 600W amp will run it fine.

don't run the system at full volume and you'll be fine. 500 watts is a thermal rating though. more than that will damage the coils. the sub doesn't actually need that much power to reach full output so even a 400 watt amp would do the job at whatever load your sub presents.

on a side note, set the "gain" of the amp properly. there is only one proper setting.
gain, or input sensitivity has NO effect on the power output of the amplifier, so don't try to use it as a volume or power adjustment.
the gain control is used to vary input voltage impedance to match input line voltage to the amplifier's input stage. turning it up or down too far only means you're using the same amount of power to amplify a signal that's too strong or too weak and as a result you'll either get noise or clipping.
